Full Force into October

Orchestra started in October.

Annabelle is thrilled.
Beatrix is not.

Beatrix and Evangeline also joined a choir.

I planned to correct a lot of math while waiting in the foyer.

Plans went awry when John started feeling very sick.
I thought for sure we were on the verge of a stomach flu.
I had the garbage can right next to me.

Then boom. John looks at me and says "I feel better now!"  And he did.
Much music practice.

A final check on the bees, (I think.)
I removed the mite treatment and located both of my queens.
Depending on the weather, the next job will be to bundle them up for the winter.

John was a good helper.

Completely unfazed when Harriet, the grumpiest hive ever, was zinging at his head.
These suits work so well.

Loretta is still the most peaceful queen.  I love her.

Teens always wander in in the evening.

Fall craft season.  Our library has been providing well for us.

We were studying the inner ear when Evangeline suddenly showed up with this visual.
There is a speaker in the bowl and sugar dancing on the plastic wrap.
I guess she learned this at VBS one year.

Stacking firewood.

I've been enjoying the fall colour in our yard this year.  The extra moisture and warm weather have allowed the maple leaves to turn yellow.  This doesn't happen every year.  Usually, they just turn brown and fall off.  I *think* it is a silver maple.

This is our new kitten Winston.
He is a very happy and loved shop cat.

Family Portaits

We spent a few minutes with a timer and an easel taking pictures before the fall colour completely disappeared.

Here Joyce photobombed us.

We did get a good one, but it didn't get onto my computer.

All The Things

School.  Again.

Optometrist.  Again.

Beatrix is birdwatching.  Again.

My floor is kind of clean.  Again.
Not again.  This is rare.

John's glasses arrived!!!
(They are currently missing.)
(I think this will be the norm.)

The doors to our room are open!  How unusual.  I spent almost a full Saturday deep cleaning in there.  Dusting stacks of books and vacuuming behind furniture.

Two days later, you couldn't tell I'd done anything.
C'est La Vie.
